Kirkwood Homes asked us to design and complete a fully furnished and styled 4 bedroom family show home for their Cowdray Meadows development in Dunecht. They wanted the show home to have a modern and contemporary edge, but still be appealing to a wide age demographic.
Our design trend influence was the industrial boutique theme.
Key design elements:
We incorporated a range of textures and patterns wherever we could to bring the show home to life - such as the printed scatter cushions and the incredible herringbone wooden floor.
For the lounge and study we chose textured wallpapers in rustic metallic colourways to evoke a cosy, encapsulated feel.
The ceiling lights are also stunning and form key accents throughout the home. Our favourites are the polished copper pendant in the kitchen/dining area, and the geometric open light-fitting in the lounge. The exposed industrial bulb adds an edgy feel to modernise the space.
Using a tonal colour palette was key in this look, in order to appeal to a wide audience. We kept it looking both exciting and welcoming by adding warm orange accents to catch the eye and draw you in.
The show home has a strong family feel to it with interiors that evoke a cosy and welcoming atmosphere, but there’s also a contemporary edge to keep it looking aspirational.
With the use of different textures and patterns throughout the show home, we were able to bring each room to life with bursts of visual interest to draw attention to the space. It creates a very modern feel to the home without being too over the top.
Finally, using a tonal colour palette with pops of orange has created a very luxurious atmosphere that is still very homely and inviting.
