Description
This luxurious 250 thread count cotton sateen bedding celebrates Morris’ unique Liverpool design, authentically brought to production for the first time in history by William Morris At Home. The William Morris Gallery holds the only known example of this design; the original archive document is a hand painted silk designed by William Morris’s head designer, John Henry Dearle, in 1905. The intricate Liverpool artwork has been beautifully framed by a calming Lily Leaf pattern, adapted from the background within an earlier William Morris wallpaper print named Lily, created in 1874 and an intricate border inspired by one of Morris’ designs for a frieze. Coloured in rich shades of navy, rose pink and linen this reversible bed-set is a celebration of the William Morris Gallery’s extensive archive, that houses the world’s largest collection of Morris’ works.
