Introducing The Beautiful New Osborne And Little Collections Of Fabrics And Wallpapers
The Osborne and Little new collections for this season have landed in store, and we've all been swooning over the new fabric and wallpaper books that are upstairs in our interior design department.
In this blog post, we give you a rundown of the collections, and two of our interior designers, Amy and Lorna, share their favourite pieces to give you style inspiration for the current season.
About the brand, and its new collections
With their imaginative new collections for spring/summer, Osborne and Little have created beautifully distinctive designs that fit both classic and contemporary interiors - offering a style to suit everyone.
The Folium wallpaper range is a strong nod to the botanical trend, with striking digital floral prints and bold colours, while the Metropolis Vinyls 3 collection of wallpapers creates a more subtle look with semi-plain wallcoverings and a calming colour palette including ivory, aqua and sea blue.
The new fabric collections also combine a range of styles and colour palettes. The stunning Intermezzo silks collection uses elegant silver, ivory, and a range of pale blue tones, while the Memphis range by Margo Selby contains a mixture of woven textures, patterns inspired by 1950s blues and soul artists, and bold shades such as fuchsia, cherry, teal, and citrus.
Amy's top picks:
Abermarle: Burlington
Amy chose a fabric from the Abermarle collection as her favourite, inspired by London's lively and stylish Mayfair district. The Burlington print is a modern houndstooth design with a wool boucl' yarn and a mixture of aqua with coral in its colour palette for a hint of vibrancy.
Amy said: 'I love the Chanel inspired tweeds of the Burlington fabric, and the retro twist that it creates with the houndstooth print. It would create an interesting mix when teamed up with a beautiful silk wool for a stylish armchair chair and scatter cushion.'
Ariadne Velvets: Leonore
Amy's second top pick from the new collections is the Leonore fabric, from the luxurious Ariadne Velvets range. The use of pattern in a rich fabric such as velvet creates a bold statement with a contemporary twist, combined with lavish tones of teal, royal blue and emerald.
She said: 'I chose the Leonore fabric because the textured velvet is such a luxurious fabric, and the metallic shimmer makes it stand out even more. This fabric would be perfect for a statement piece of furniture such as a small sofa or a headboard on a bed."
Lorna's top picks:
TAZA: Temara
From the new Moroccan inspired TAZA collection, the Temara print is a lively circular design on a neutral linen background. The fabric is heavily embroidered with a variety of different stitch details, and an exciting mix of copper, mint green and ochre.
Lorna said: 'I chose this as one of my favourites from the collection, as the colours used are bright and eye-catching, standing out against the charcoal linen background. The fabric would make a fantastic feature in a room colour scheme.'
Lorna suggests using the fabric in a statement curtain for someone who isn't afraid of bringing a bold look to their interior space. She also thinks it would make a gorgeous scatter cushion to add a striking detail to a sofa or chair with less pattern.
TAZA: Tarbouche
Another one of Lorna's favourites, and also from the TAZA range, is the Tarbouche fabric. Named after a traditional Moroccan hat, this print features a colourful network of patterned diamonds embroidered on a satin base.
She said: 'The traditional stitching technique of crewel is beautifully displayed in this fabric, and the use of the lighter taupe coloured background brings the teal, turquoise and fired orange to the foreground. The use of the diamond and cross-like geometric shapes give structure to the design, making it pleasing to the eye.'
Again, because of the bold nature of this fabric, Lorna suggests using it as a full length window dressing, or at a smaller scale, such as an accent cushion, to equally bring a sense of joy to a room.
